The fee you're not paying
When you book a vacation rental through Airbnb or Vrbo, the platform adds a guest service fee on top of the nightly rate, cleaning fee, and taxes. It's often in the range of a few hundred dollars on a multi-night group stay. That money doesn't go to the home, the cleaning team, or the host — it's the platform's cut for listing the property.
Booking here removes that line item. The nightly rate, the cleaning fee, and the taxes are the same; the platform fee simply isn't there.
What you still get
- The same home, same calendar. Our direct booking system and the Airbnb listing share one calendar, so availability is identical.
- Secure payment. Reservations run through Guesty, a professional booking platform used by thousands of property managers. Your card is processed securely; we never see the number.
- Professional cleaning, contactless check-in, 24/7 support. Nothing about the stay changes except the total.
- Free cancellation up to 30 days before check-in. Prefer to save more? A non-refundable rate is available at a discount. Both options appear at checkout before you pay.
- Automatic discounts. Weekly and monthly stays are discounted at checkout without a code.
- A person, not a ticket queue. Questions go straight to the owner by call or text.
What the nightly rate does and doesn't include
The rate you see covers the home and everything in it. Two optional extras sit outside it, so there are no surprises:
- Pool and spa heating. Optional and available on request — $65 per day or $400 per week for the pool. The spa heats separately at roughly $5–15 per hour. From May through September the desert usually keeps the water warm without it.
- Pet fee. Pets are welcome with prior approval, and a modest pet fee may apply. Message us before booking with the number, size, and breed.
Cleaning and taxes are itemized at checkout, and weekly and monthly discounts apply automatically.
Why hosts prefer it too
Platforms charge hosts a commission as well. When you book direct, that commission disappears — which is exactly why we can offer discounted pricing on direct bookings. It's the rare arrangement where both sides come out ahead.
